local - Having surfed the area since I was a kid I can say that Golden Bay can be a quality option. In winter it can have good banks and although smaller than Secret Harbour it is way less packed and you will get heaps more waves. Just walk anywhere from Madora to Singoes to Golden Bay or to Secret Harbour.....can't go wrong!

golden bay is good - i went there today and it was a 2.5 and light offshore and it was good. way better than going to secrets and getting crowded by people. every now n then a good set comes through at about head hight. can't wait till winter comes.
