Follow to the end to a car park then North over the small hill and you will see 3 - 4 Right/Left reef breaks. 1.5 - 2m swell is fun. Additional Surfing Infos
Picks up the swell better than in town. Best way to surf it, is to find it and enjoy it.
  Overview
Atmosphere Pristine clean water, lots of marine life, typical mid north coast vegetation - DRY.
General Great place to surf. There maybe better breaks in the region but, when the conditions are right, the view as you drive over the small hill is one of 3 large peaks just spinning RT and Lt down the line - Magic stuff

Bowes needs a noreaster to be best not a soweaster like the thing says and it isnt doesnt have urchins and if it did its not likely your gonna hit them because its pretty deep ps. south of bowes at oakas the waves are way better but i have seen sharks there
