*Swell direction is critical for this spot. When a small, clean SW groundswell lines up with the rock ledge on a warm, glassy summer morning this is the place to be. Best surfed at 3-4 foot. *The takeoff point is precariously close to the rocks. *Wear booties and only surf it at high tide, the reef is exposed at low tide. *Paddle out to via the key hole.
Overview
Atmosphere
surrounded by steep cliffs and gum trees. Takes about ten minutes to get down the cliff, which seems like an eternity if the waves are firing.
what a wave
explosives more like explosive diarrhea, the only thing your gonna catch here is a bad case of the squirts

well i may have discovered this fake wave, or another high tide, board snapping reef in the same general area as 'Explosives'. between Lorne and Cathedral i witnessed a countless number of spitting lefts rolling in perfectly right before fattening out into a nice keyhole paddle out. anyway, thats all, its a sick wave whatever it may be called
