Drive down back beach road, may have to pay a parking toll to enter national park, pritty easy to find and ask a local if you need to. It can be one of the best waves in the world, if u get it good.

this beach can get perfect sometimes
when the conditions are right there can be a healthy crowd even during winter
but summer is just full of kooks

This is my local break and I've surfed here for around 20 years and can honestly say that it used to have excellent and consistent banks that would hold up to 6-8ft. Then the National Parks decided to plant marram grass all over the sand dunes to stop erosion but what it did was stop the sand movement and creation of good sandbanks-now it's a rare day to have a good solid bank at Portsea-sad!!!
