Patterson River Access |

Parking avialable at the Beauty Spot, but is generally used only by sightseers. For those taking the train, the five minute walk is not worth it, visit Carrum beach instead. |

| | Don't bother going here as the huge amount of boat traffic, rocks and other hazards make it unsuitable. During strong westerlies, surfable waves can be found at Carrum beach, a few hundred metres south.

Atmosphere |
I reckon more people have drowned in or around Patterson River over the past few years than any other single surf beach in Victoria. I can think of five in the past five years off the top of my head. Don't even bother visiting this place, other than to have a picnic. If the waves are good here they are also good at the Carrum surf club, a few hundred metres south near the railway station. |
