Walk along the track towards Gunna. Walk 20 mins scale down 400m hilly cliff down. Follow your eyes you can see it from the top!

It takes close to an hour to get back to the car park...if you’re hurt you may have to be air lifted....

it needs to be huge
If you expect this wave to work at 6 foot forget it!! Gunna needs to be 8-10 closing out before this place even starts to break properly. I have surfed it oon huge swells at 8-10 foot and believe me its a wave for the brave. Awesome water movements and dropps that take your breth away. Thsoe that posted here at only 6foot and bag the wave have not surfed it in the right conditions. Its a big wave reef/bay and needs huge swells. other wise go surf Port phillip bay and bag that!

Yeah, the shanck is most often a bit of a waste. And I live on the lighhouse road... If its massive evrywhere else then there is nowhere else to go but the shanck. Even then I groan thinking about the walk, scaling the cliff, the flies, the fatness of the walls, and paddling in... There is a local seal too.

Shark Schanck
There's no doubt this place would have some big noahs lurking around-but hey no-one has been attacked there that I know of. It's a beautiful spot just to check out even if the waves are crap. It can hold some good size -actually needs to be at least 6 ft to start working and the beauty of it is it's protected from the S-E sea breeze. The climb down the cliff can be a mission and the thought of having to climb back up after a long surf makes the place even less appealing!
