Additional Surfing Infos
this is proberbly the most surfed spot by the locals in the area so you will never get it good and empty unless there's a shark in the water and no one's told you!
  Overview
Atmosphere It's good to watch the break for a while if it's sizey because you will see a few wipeouts as the take off is a steep quick one and the reef is a shallow sharp one.
General The bigger it gets the the better it gets, just try not to think to much about what's below the dark water water your sitting in and concentrate on barrels you want to get in.

S.A
Locals are just protective beacause they have nothing better, come and ride island or suckrock, bunch of wingers, chis is nothing its talked up to be, it breaks like that about 3 times a year.... the sport surfing or lidding is something that involves traveling and seeing other surf spots around aus and the world, honestly get i life....

south oz surfers are crying babies
South oz surfers are the biggest whiners and have the worst surf etiquette. I'd love to see them go to other places and behave like they do in SA. They wouldnt last 2 seconds. Ive surfed ultra crowded D'bah and everyone behaves like saints compared to when there is 5 people in the water in SA. Having said that, ive had no problems with locals on the yorke peninsular. The ones ive met are actually really friendly. I surfed 2-3ft chi's the other week with a dozen surfers and me the only lidder and there were still plenty of waves to go around. Its really not that hard to respect your fellow water lovers and more people should try it instead of trying to increase the size of the chip on their shoulders. Surfing should be enjoyable regardless of the craft you ride or where your from. If you cant enjoy it under all conditions or crowds (stick or booger) then stay out of the water.
