When about 8 km's out of town, go to the beach at any camp site. There are a couple of sandbars with surfable waves. |

If You like to stay at a camp, get a ticket at Rainbow Beach QPWS (right hand side at town entrance coming from Gympie) or book in advance over EPA internet sites. Some camps have 2WD others 4WD access only. Bring moskito repellant.

Fraser blocking
Only small windswell coming from E/NE, so Fraser Island was blocking most of the power. Waves rolling to the beach at 45° Angle providing strange conditions. Tide was strong so it was rather a paddle competition than a surf session. H
