Hard locals or what? Good to hear that there are tourist nets to save the tourists from sharks. Are the locals so hard that a shark bite would just bounce off their skin? They must be, if the nets are only for tourists.

NIRVANA 1. yes there are tourist nets that "keep sharks out" lol2. for whoever entered this site, listen to the guy who calls the place murmaid and get it right!!3 for the other angry bloke, try finding your own damn break without using technology and see how well you do then, you might actually stop thinking wannasurf owe you something and enjoy the adventure of discovering a new place for yourself....4. I have lived in Mermaid Beach for 5years and love it, central to everywhere, world class on its day but keep headin south as someone else stated if our up for the day more consistent at D-Baaah.... remember surfing is about being one with nature, respect everyone and everything in the water with you and you will truly be enlightened....

great beachie murmaid beach is a nice beach brake but if the swell is to sraight from the east it will close out i surf murmaid every day and it is always fun and it is off shore in a north weast wind not a north easterly who ever added murmaid needs to know about the brake before adding it

works on a west or south west wind NOT a north east yet another error by the editor/publisher or whatever....this place is onshore to the max in a north east wind!!! i suggest whoever publishes the parametres of a break either surfs it or at the very least looks and studies the map of the coastline before send people to surf onshore slop due to their mistakes
