Turn off Pacific Highway south of Tweed Heads, 2 mile drive to beach parking area.

This is about a 15 min drive from D-bar south. If you stick to the coast you should find it no worries.

 Additional Information

Inconsistant wave but can be lots of fun on its day. Quality of the wave depends on the sand bars which seem to move from year to year.
u gotta just get inside the gallows and pull in so smoothly so that you can actually make it. its a pretty hectic break

General

I have many fond memories of powerfull waved breaking over a sand bottom here. Check out the right hander off Cooks Island as well.

Fingal Head
By herwig
Nov 11, 2007
Rough Sea - From Bribie Island we went along the Gold Coast to Surfers Hell. As we saw the skyline it was clear not to waste too much time with overdeveloped cities. Also the weather went even worse so it was no good idea to paddle out at any spot around town.

yes - is this info on fingal head entirely accurate? I went there for a holiday and it was stormy the whole time. Definetely bigger than 3ft & I distinctly remember there being a sidewash off the head, with riders going LEFT instead of right. wtf????
