walk around the cliffs at south newy for about 25 mins till you reach the second of two coves(next to susan gilmour)or got to susan gilmour and walk around to the next cove
this spot is pretty ordinary most of the time but when u catch it good its heaps fun.Good 4 the lidders, swell comes in slowly and just hits up on the bank into a shore break kinder wave and throws over into a heavy tube. The take off is fast and if u can make it down the lip u can pill into some nice barrels. Just remember to pill of before you get close to the big rocks.
Overview
Atmosphere
pretty good atmospher u stare at giant cliff with people watchiong u from the rocks above
General
good fun spot nice wedge that bounces of the wall ans sucks pretty hard making a pretty heavy barrel u can come out of.The cove needs to be bigger because u find yourself near the rock walls pretty often.Dont know if its sharky though because some guy was tellin my mate bull sharks come in there a fair bit.

Real or just legend
The story goes, around 60 years ago? a Killer whale & a white pointer battled for 2 days bellow the old water tower on Cooks Hill(Happy Gilmour). I think it was reported in the Newcastle Herald (do some homework). Imagine that with a few biscuits thrown in?????. Snap crackle pop.
