Additional Surfing Infos
This is a very heavy ledgy right hand wave breaking in big southerly swells. Dangers include a breakwall with large manmade concrete blocks located further inside the wave.On a good day the wave will break all the way into the breakwall so pulling of the wave early is sometimes essential. The wave is guarded by a few local Bodyboarders who charge the wave. Experienbce is essential and if in doubt, dont paddle out.Sucks dry when the tide gets low.
  Overview
Atmosphere Generally guarded by a few local bodyboarders. Usually only a handful out as most people are too intimidated by the waver characteristics to paddle out.
General Generally inconsistent but becomes good when everywhere else is closing out on a big south swell.Offers some heaving barrels and suited to a bodyboard.

Don't waste your time
Don't waste your time with Whalebones, there's always a better wave breaking somewhere if this is working which it rarely ever does. Usually frequented by hordes of kooks when it's 1 foot who sit on the end section and go straight so they can go to school and tell their mates they surfed whalebones.. ohhhhhh.. we're so impressed. When it does work it is an awesome wave but you gotta catch it in that 3-4hr window or you miss it.
