Surf Season VN only has surf for 5 months in the NE monsoon (mid October - mid March). During the summer typhoon season you will probably have to wait 2 months for a one day swell so don't bother taking a board unless you're going during the NE monsoon.

Vung Tau Surf I surfed Vung Tau last month in the 3 week of January. We had a break from our humanitarian work and went to the coast for some surf. It was 2-4 feet and glassy. It was something out of a movie at first. Swell was okay with some fun rides. Water is warm and the vibe is really mellow. Rent the boards at the Vung Tau beach club on the beach. The Russians are really mellow and folks. Sort of steep price though but worth riding a few waves in VIETNAM. Aloha to all.
