Definitely come here Lovely left hander, lazy by name lazy by nature. Good fun, usually 2-5 foot guaranteed. Occasional barrel too! Check out Asanka gues house, its a 30 second stroll through the trees from the road, run by Asanka and family who are really hospitable and friendly. His brother Champika is an awesome chef!

Midigama- is it safe to in a few month? Can anyone let me know if it is safe to travel with my pregnant partner to South West Sri Lanka. I would like to have a 3 week surf there in October before heading to Australia. Any advise would be appreciated.

Midigama After Tsunami Hi Crew, just got back from Midi and must say that i had a great time surfing with just a few who wintered there even with all the Tsunami madness in their midst. The Subodinee guest house is a super cool place to stay, cheap and very cheerful and the family will look after you well. For all those reading this who are learning or want to surf Yannick the French guy who helps out there will gladly teach you [ see www.subodinee.com for more info ]I've surfed for 26 years and been lucky to have travelled to heaps of good spots around the world,if you want to chill and surf some super fun waves in boardshorts this is the place.See Ya.

Relax Holiday Village Hi there. We visited Midigama in 2000 and stayed a month with Gunnersari and La-La, who owned Relax Holiday Village, just back from the main road slicing through the town, parallel to the beach. I was wondering if anyone can tell us if they are safe and well after the tsunami.RegardsCarla and Robin

Nice Little Spot First surfed this spot in 98 with Steve Childs and it was pretty good then, Although due to the locals blowing up the reef to use as building materials, the sands have turned giving a backwash that can dramatically reduce your time in the water. Nice spot though, very chilled and the wave is pretty good, On bigger swells you can sometimes get a nice right opposite the Relax Guest House.Have got to say Gi's place is one of the better ones in the area. This Christmas will be my last trip here as its getting pretty busy now. Respect the locals!Mark n Michelle from Yorkshire

hi had the best surf trip ever to this place a few months ago, if you spend some time walking/took took, up and down the coast you'l find some first class waves, watch out for sea snakes/ urchins!!!...stay away from hik loads of nob head isralies.(not all of them are but most!)

This place has potential Surfed this place early May on the way around the coast got it late morning on the high at a solid 4 foot with the odd 5er cruising around the bay. Only other surfer out was a loggerhead shoulder hopping!! Just watch the rip pulling across to the rocks, keep to the right of the flags but not too far as you could get caught inside on the bigger sets. Otherwise have fun and get some height of the backwash. (Watch this space photos to follow)Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!
