unawatuna - We are trying to find out if our friends nishantha liyanage and shiyama ibbrahim are Ok. Nishantha is known as toshe and shiyama as shama. They have a restaurant in unawatuna called boomerang and lots of the lads who work there surf. crazy swede with dreadlocks???? - hey...i'm looking for my cousin that is in sri lanka surfing right now. i know he was in Arugam bay a couple of weeks ago, but that he was heading to the west coast. he goes by eskil or magnus, real out going, blonde dreadlocks, etc. has anyone seen him since the tsunamis???? was anyone there and in the water? drop me a line...thanks.

surf - hi,
there are no real waves north of hikka, sometimes u find some surfable waves in bentota, but not in winter...too calm...
Best places to surf in sri lanka is hikka in winter...and arugambay is awesome..but only in summer...(so ther is surf whenever u need it)
hope to see lots of people here...i live in colombo and go surfing whenever i can...chill part surf...

Waves Up North ?? - Hi Crew, can anyone tell me if there are waves further North than Hikaduwa as i will be stuck there with the chick for a few days and will be hanging to get wet before heading South. hi - You can rent boards from Jais in middigama and he has second hand boards in there every now and then... waves are generaly smaller at merrissa.. beautiful place though.. see you there in feb!

Boards for sale? - Does anyone know if one can find boards for sale in srilanka? Any surfshops beside A-frame? As far as i understand they only have boards for rent, and I plan to stay at least one month. If not, then can I expect a good selection of rental boards? Any info would be much appreciated as half my travel budget will go to bringing my board all the way from Norway :)
