Boards - Leave the boards at home there are great boards everywhere on the Island. Cheap to hire too about 500 bucks a day. There are plenty o surf shops in SL so everything you need - no problems. Bring CD's cause the music is crap.

hi again - Hi Everyone, I am going to be in SL in December. I will be traveling mostly along the south east coast from Colombo to Galle. How are the waves on the south east coast during this season? I was also wondering how easy it is to rent boards while over there, I will be traveling in many places and if I can avoid carrying my board around that would help. Finally how is the surfing after last year’s events? Thanks
columbo - Is there surf in or close to Columbo?

possible to rent boards? - I'm travelling in India/Sri Lanka over DEC/JAN, but only gonna be in sri lanka for about two weeks so prefer not to take boards. Does anyone know what the vibe is with renting boards around hikkaduwa, rough price would be cool too. Thanks alot,goodsurfingJamiewww.jaybay.co.za
firstname.lastname@example.org - Hi reef boots are a bit of a must due to the largest urchins ive ever seen!...and its easy to get your boards about if you hire a driver...if its just local the tuk tuk drivers will let you hold your board outside, or tie them to the roof..(not advised...think they reckon boards are tougher than they are..lol) mail me if you want any tips...well as much as i learnt in 2 months..lol
booties - just a quick one. will i need wet suit booties for surfing in sri lanka
surf in april - hi, we are two aussie guys that will be in SL in april. one a shortboarder and the other a long and short boarder. we would like to know how easy is it to get a couple of longboards around the country and where would be a good place to store them for we are going up north for a few weeks. also is there a surf shop in SL. what are some good places to stay at. if you are traveling around then and want some travel partners give us a email, if you can hold a vid cam and take photos, a plus.
