You're basically surfing along in this surf-virgin country. The east coast of Korea can seriously go off during typhoon season, which is in late summer/autumn.
for real
I've been here a year and get at lest three sessions a week too.. bring lots of neoprene because winter is cold but offshore and the most consistient. There are some wicked waves here.. and you can surf crowdless!! that's the best part. There are no surf shops so bring lots of wax.. a couple of boards.. 5/4, 7mil booties, 5mil gloves and a desire for solitude. There ARE other surfers here.. you'll just have to find them.. otherwise take your chances with ornery coastguards and lifeguards and have a blast!

Final Bit About "Squids."
There is NO squids. There never was. The picture I took appeared in Surfers Journal nearly ten years ago. The wave in question was in Mukho harbor, but is no longer, because some dumbshit construction company dropped a bunch of concrete blocks in the water. The wave is GONE. GONE. It was never surfed, anyhow. I know, because I looked at it every morning when I woke up.
