Get to Pangandaran, from there by local transport to cijulang. Rest of the trip you have to go by motor bike, ask your driver to take you to Batu Karas and make sure he'll go over the bamboo bridge otherwise it will be a long trip!
Thanks Gab and Lowey,
Your right it won't be quite place for long. Not after I go there with all my friends and tell eveyone how good it is.Thanks for your insight. I can make it like the rest of Indo now. Whoaaa , good on you

Go now not later!
We just traveled all through Java/Sumatra recently and one of the best places we found was Batu Karas. Surfing a peeling point with cool locals and a volcano on the horizon sums up surfing in Batu Karas. Even though the surf was smaller and tamer than other Indo spots, we still got surf everyday without the crowds that were all over every other Indo surf spot.
There were only a few accommodation places - Java Cove Hotel, Tereti Hotel and a place with a handful of small bungalows. Without a doubt the best was Java Cove. Right on the beach with amazing views, really clean and stylish and just generally well run. The front deck cafe area at the hotel has got to be one of Indo's prime hang spots - right in front of the point so perfect for wave watching over a sunrise breakfast or a sunset Binteng!
We also stayed at the Tereti Hotel, which wasn't too bad but had no views and got noisy on weekends with young Indos partying. We had a look at the new bungalow place and it seemed OK but had no breeze so there were lots of mosquitoes. No need to go past Java Cove, it looks like it's mega expensive but they have cheap rooms for backpackers downstairs and the views are straight to the waves.
Every night we ate at the local warungs and the seafood was amazing and really well priced. BBQ prawns calamari fish with stir fry vegetables and rice for around $8 for the 2 of us! It was also a great place to meet the locals who were always ready to share stories and have a laugh. Sometimes a beach party would be called, but mostly it was a sleepy little village at night.
A lot of people we met on our travels were talking about Batu Karas and when we were there it was sometimes totally full with Indonesian holidaymakers. If a quiet relaxing friendly village with fun surfing is what you're looking for then make the effort to do the loooooong drive to Batu karas. But do it sooner rather than later because the place had a feeling about it that it wouldn't stay quiet forever.
