A good left hander, takes a massive swell to break, caps on the outside before sucking out on the inside reef. Short, intense and fickle.
Pull in and go: this is one of the best waves in the world in my opinion. The longest barrels I have gotten (15 sec. +) super shallow and super sharp but worth it.Big walls of water break off a boil rock on the outside of the bay and suck up into a thick and heavy left that bowls and winds down the reef for a few hundred meters. The inside section of this reef gets really shallow.
Sumbawa, located east of lombok. People are not to friendly towards Americans on the island. Best if you charter a boat from bali. anywhere from 0 - 00 U.S.
Pretty average wave by Indo standards, and ultra rare. Offshore in dry season trades, but strange micro climates due to the heating and cooling of the mountainous and desert coast line often cause day long onshores, even though you can see the whitecaps of the trades on the horizon. Any onshores ruin this wave completly. Very shallow, high risk, short reward.

Maluk House - Recently spent a few weeks in sumbawa sourcing Supersucks. Got some great waves. Stayed at Maluk house. Just wanted to drop a line to anyone considering staying there to look elsewhere.
Had things stolen by staff, got ripped off by the staff on a car we hired, got physically threatened by staff when we questioned the issues - and the state of the rooms was shocking for the $$$ being charged. Owner is in Canada and avoids any accountability for issues on the property. Stay elsewhere.
Paul and the crew down at Supersucks Hotel were fantastic and helped us out whenever things got bad at Maluk house.
Stay away from maluk house and stay at Supersuck hotel or one of the other joints in Maluk.
You'll save money and stress and spend more time surfing.

Stay home - If you have nothing good to say. Embarrassed by all the bodyboarders? What you got embarassed because they ride the barrel better than you? And you couldn't pull in with your teapot kettle stance? Stick to Kuta Beach.
We are all here to have fun, catch waves, and celebrate life. Take your soap box, and shove it up your ass. No one wants to hear it. Seriously.
