Hi Guys,

Seems there has been a lot of talk about us on here both good and bad. It is great to hear such a positive response from people like Geoff, Carl and Danno. So to cut the crap here is a visual representation of what to expect if you come to stay with us. We never wanted to be over priced like some resorts in the mentawaiis that charge USD$4400 per head per trip but we are a business and it just wouldn't be worth it to charge $10 a night for the quality of service we hope to offer. Anyhow just though this clip would clear up a few things about what we are offering and the waves we surf.

2010 Season Teaser Vid

http://vimeo.com/6444019

Also would like to let you decide whether it's actually guests who have written some of this stuff (quote from that guy)

'secret sumatra sucks!
DON'T STAY AT SECRET SUMATRA SURF CAMP! It is a place for frothing sponge humpers and the food is terrible! The wave out the front seriously is a two second ride, what a joke! And a filthy polluted creek runs straight into the lineup, me and my mates all got sick! Dean, one of the guys who owns the place is a complete tool as well, he has an ego the size of ayers rock and he hassles his own guests for waves out in the surf, when i arked up about it he told me to be quiet or he would kick me out with no refund, he deserves a serious beatdown!'. ----

In response to that quote, I can assure you no guest has ever been kicked out and with words like beatdown this sounds very American we have only had 3 american guests stay with us (one of them who was back for his 2nd trip this year) and you can guarantee this isn't one of our guests who wrote this garbage, more like the American operator in the area who is well known for shtcanning any of his competition, quite obvious a person with no brain has written this...

Anyway guys, check the vid and make your own assumptions and hope to get some barrels with you on 2010

I will be returning for my 3rd season with Dean and Chris in Sumatra this year. What you are saying about price is true here, Grant you can do this on half the price, but the thing is Dean and Chris have this area wired. They live there for the surf season and they are only there to surf. On the best days we have scored with just our camp and no one else in the line ups, we have seen guys chasing their tails and I have told guys the waves we're shithouse that morning, when I was scoring epic barrels. They are driving us around in pimp 4wd's with dvd players and we have our own room which is fitted out like a nice hotel. Rather than a the dives I have checked out while I was staying with the ( I was sussing out my options for returning ). Now for a carefree 10 day holiday, I would rather pay twice the price to get more than twice as many waves, and be way more comfortable. I would recommend anyone who is doing a 2 week vacation to stay with them to guarantee your getting the best waves in the limited time we get off from work per year. I'm going back in August this year and can't wait, I just saw some photo's on facebook of all the stuff they have done to the camp. It's looks more like a resort now, which is a massive difference to when I first went in 2006. I think you shouldn't write off something before you try it. Maybe you missed out on a lot of epic waves by being a cheap ass... Well as they say, ignorance is bliss!

Stay at one of the locally owned losmen. These guys charge a fortune, I was surfing the peak 1 day last August and this aussie dickhead paddles up to me and accuses me of harassing his guests. All I did was ask them how much it was costing them, I think they were a bit disappointed when they found out that we were staying almost twice as long and paying about half the amount they were. Dean is a fool and his guests are stupider. Go to Sumatra but find your own way, it will cost you less and it makes the trip that much better.
