stay in front of the wave at asu 10 dollars a day
just go to the furthest camp directly in front of the wave. You can stay there for 10 dollars a day if you bring and cook your own food. 20 dollars a day if you bring food and the camp cooks it. 30 a day if you come without food and the camp provides you 3 meals a day. Go to the furthest camp. The camp directly in front of the wave. Have Fun!

Lagundri accomodation
anyone looking for a good value losmen on the point, Rafael's Losmen cant be beat. awesome food and rooms and well priced. Raf can arrange air/ferry tickets and transport no worries

Medan-Nias Flights
I just read an article that 5 indo airlines have been grounded for 3 months including SMAC Airlines, dated the 1st of June. Anyone know if this is true and how do you get to Nias from Medan???? cheers

am i the only a bit confused after i read the comments about nias? some people tell you the most good waves are shithouse after the tsunami - others tell you its still good!? some tell you the locals are dishonest and greedy- others the are so nice!? uncrowded sessions- totally overcrowded...!? what the f...?! please give no comment to this comment!

Route to Nias - question
Can anyone please advise how to get from Medan to Nias (Lagundri Bay) and how long I should allow for the journey? Does SMAC-airline not allow surfboards? I'm travelling solo - is this crazy and not recommended? Many thanks for any tips!!

Anonymous, you can look at it anyway you want it, and yes of course like everywhere in the world, there are also some untrustworthy dogs on Nias. I think, it depends a lot on how you will tread the people. And yes, if you tread them like dogs (witch a lot of spoiled westerns do), you will get dogs!
My experience on Nias, and also Lagundri or actually you should call it the people from Sorake, because the wave is in Lagundri but most loseman are on Sorake Beach, are totally different. I find it always very worth the ‘hassle to get there”. Niassers are maybe difficult because of the lack of development. But I feel the Niassers also are one of the most original, straight from the hart, and fun people to surf with in the world!
Try to really spent some time there, and you can find out yourself!

All those who have warned about Nias are dead right. The locals at Lagundri are untrustworthy dogs. Stow your stuff carefully and stay clear of them as they lie and cheat and won't think twice before knifing you if you piss them off.
The wave is good but not worth the hassle.

If you plan to go to lagundri bay just ask for Lili's losmen. Arefa will take care of you and your friends. He's a nice guy who could also book a small boat for you if you want to go to Hinakos islands.

Hi there going to Nias & Hinako was wondering if anyone knows of any good accommodation spots for a couple of keen surfers. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
