camps
the camp in front of the wave charges 100,000 rupiah (10 dollars) if you bring your own food and cook it. If you have them cook it it costs 200,000. If you show up empty handed it's 300,000 a night with food. Have Fun! Remember to go to the camp in front of the wave. The furthest camp. Right in front!!!

Surfed there in 99. No surf camp in sight. Only a handfull of people out and the most incredible waves i ever surfed.
Looks like there s a surfcamp war going on? Stupidity and greed found their way to the most remote parts of this world!!!

WHAT ABOUT THAT FENCE ?
As an entrepreneur myself (gosh i regret now not being a simple surfer in his quest), i perfectly understand that you guys want to provide some luxury for the people who want it. But what is the story about the fence ? If your offer is good , do you need to go against people who offer accomodation for cheaper budget? For example, just sold everything, used to go in high en surf camps when I had less time. Now I just want to stay for 4 weeks in Asu. Any solution ? I just want to surf, and maybe have a drink or food in your surfcamp. Possible?

Politics are one thing, I dont like politics. However land rights are a different story. The owner of our land, Amanosef built a fence on HIS land. Mainly due to theft issues from the bungalo balconies, but also due to the lack of respect from the GOINDOSURF newcomer blow-ins that just arrived this year and think they have something to say. GOINDOSURF doesn't even have a "local" partner, Lagundri Bay is not Asu or the Hinakos and the people are very different. Again, please have the class courage and BALLS to talk your trash to our face, you know where to find us. ANYONE ELSE, we will look after you if you want to come enjoy Asu and the Hinakos. We have the facilities and the boats, and the experience. WE WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU LIKE FAMILY. We are not in it for the money, we are in it for the waves and the smiles. Gas costs money, food costs money, boats cost money, salaries cost money, so we have to charge a higher rate to provide a HIGHER level of service and guest satisfaction. Take care and stay wet.

Hi, My name is Steve Levine and I am the owner of Puri Uluwatu Villas and Puri Asu VIP.
I have been living in Indonesia since 1992. As far as the comments I just read, (love the racist Steve(Jewish) one by anonymous) most of them are quite amusing to me. First I want to ask "what have you done for the people of Nias?" I know I have provided work and food for at least 20 families over the years. I know I have supported people from Medan to Gunungsitoli to Sirombu to Asu. I know how much I have invested in the region. And by the way, "In it for the money" is HILARIOUS!!! Maybe if we run trips for 10 more years we might break even. We (Myself, Enrique and Native Amanosep) get our joy and satisfaction from providing a comfortable and COMPLETE facility for people to surf and fish. Jealousy is hard I know and these posts are just that. OGsurf, Anonymous and Hans(the coward) I Invite you, no I challenge you to say any of your shit to my face. If I am not in Uluwatu I am in Asu. Talk is cheap, let me see you back it up. You are weak and you know it. Use these chat rooms to try and influence people. We have hundreds of guests who have had the trip of their lives with us. We have a hundred people in Medan, Nias and Asu who are indebted to us for feeding their families. You haven't even been open for one whole season and you are already talking trash. Please talk it to our face, please be a man and back up your words. You are cowards. Anyone else we welcome you, we will look after you, and we will provide you with service and comfort if you would like to surf the Hinako Islands.

concerned but still interested
can i get the names of the cheaper camps so i can research who to stay with. not interested in polotics but do want to avoid tools. sounds like you may all struggle for NEW business if the posts keep going, done alot of back country indo and want relaxing solid waves, not internal battles on a tiny beautiful island. your help would be appreciated.

asu on a budget
u can still get great waves at asu, there are four other camps that are still below $40 bucks a nite w/ meals, two nice camps in front of the break, goindosurf

whats going on
I was planning to go from lagundry bay to asu for a week, but now im not so sure anymore, i heard that the place is a paradise and the waves is a smoker. Now whats happening ? Am i able to surf the wave without paying USD250 a night? thats so disapointing, I might not go there anymore. anyway hope to hear from you guys
