Ferries from Labuan Hadji or Singkil from mainland Sumatra will get you there cheap. Motorbike rental from the fruit market at Simeulue ferri pier. Local people have basic accommodation in rooms or unoccupied houses. We rented a basic 2 bedroom house for 100usd for a week.
Local villages w/ fresh drinking water. Lots of little warungs in the area. Fresh fish, veggies, fruit.

Atmosphere

This spot is like a machine. We stayed on Simeulue for 11 days and surfed this place at 4ft perfection everyday - without fail. The most consistent wave I've ever seen. Good fun too!!!

NEW SURF RESORT - new surf resort on this island. many secret spots, epic. www.aurasurfresort.com check it out!!!

epic spot - yes this spot is super consistent. big barrels also. there are 2 bungalows right on the spot, will be up and running by end october 2010. email andrewshanahan1@hotmail.com for details. many other waves in the area if you know how to access them. we call this place THE PEAK. my brother found it in 2007.
