Remote and beautiful. With at least 10 surf breaks in Ekas Bay and on the remote south-east corner of Lombok. All accessible by road or boat from Heaven on the Planet. the only real beginner's wave in Lombok, plus crash hot waves when it is big. works on every swell at the bay or on the southern reefs. Easy left, hard right and barrelling right all within 1 km of the resort
General
I spend 3-4 months a year there. It is extremely beautiful, great waves and super easy lifestyle. There is diving, snorkelling and the only real skateboard bowl for a 1000 km.
just got back from ekas
surfed there early july solid 6to8 with some bigger sets with some groms from the mornington peninsula great wavees, no crowd, hot,and great company those kids caiden luke tim liam and grant you all rip ekas is well worth the effort if there is swell

Great Wave
Ekas is a great wave surfed there April 2004, turned up by boat, it was flat had a sleep and when woke up it was already 3 foot. Jumped in at Outside but current was too strong so went down to Insides- within an hour it was about 4 foot and climbing, peaking at around 5 to 6. Surfed it 4 hours solid and slept well that night. The wave just continues to wall up and it is a long paddle back to the line up. Worth a look when everywhere else is huge.

sick waves and sicker snakes
ekas ..wow..came here with my ex and two swiss dudes..surfed some waves inside ekas then surfed sick waves at maybe 6-8 ft outside..bit daunting to line up shifty take off spot this day surfing alone.wave of consequence at size as open to swell as it first enters bay.got called in when a snake follwed me around the boat..i didnt believe others until i saw it myself.not a little black and white bayb more along the size of a rattle snake..i didnt think they existed that big..beautiful spot
