Gili Air is the nearest Gili to Lombok. It is also the most populated and you will find more trees there than the other Gili's. Go out with a boat or have a long paddle out.watch out for heavy currents,sharp reef and low tide.the left has a close out and the reef is dangerous shallow over there.RESPECT THE LOCALS!!
Take your own board or ask locals maybe you can rent one.Look at the surf at meno,you can see sneaker sets rolling before they will surprise you. take a boat to the surfspot in the early morning,ask if the boat can stay.if you paddle back...make sure you have enough energy left.At last ...be sure you want to chill after your session.

well some secrets just cant be kept as they are too good . why just walk for a couple of days down the coast and you will find your secret and then you can come tell us about it . but keep it secret chappo , dont go tell them seppos or the brazzos . they might let the secret out . then it wont be a secret like.

semi secret - what a joke! how can one of the most touristed places on the whole archipelago, and one that is listed in the Lonely Planet under 'surfing', be secret at all?
the locals will love it if you go and surf with them, but you'll be lucky if you do - it's an incredibly fickle spot on a very windy island.
