Surf in Yantaiqian happens in typhoon season only.
Check typhoons passing between Shanghai and South Korea and follow the South swell as it goes toward Shandong peninsula.
Since the swell is not frequent, expect some currents as the sand flows underwater and creates sandbanks.
There are NO LOCAL SURFERS, so the atmosphere is as mellow as it gets...
You will be the founding father of surf culture in the area : breathe low and do it with style.
Great potential, too bad you have to wait a typhoon swell !

how to get there - Best way to go there is to take the fast-ferry from Qingdao to xuejiadao. Make sure there's wave before leaving Qingdao cause it's a long trip and there's nothing to do on this side of the bay...
