Additional Surfing Infos
Lots of town clowns think that this spot works on an East swell, which is crap. On an East Swell the wave breaks around the corner on the Black rock side and is weak and fades badly. Don't even bother going there if the swell is big, because the rip will push you straight into the bay and it will be way to big to surf. The place works on an incoming and outgoing tide, just depending on what the swell is doing. If it's a little small, it's often good to wait for the tide to start coming in, because the swell often picks up and the wave gets better. It doesn't work very often at all-the conditions have to be just right, and it can often work for just an hour...but if you get it....damn its good!!!
  Overview
Atmosphere The spot will get very crowded on weekends, but locals will show respect if you do. Generally people surfing this spot for the first time don't get good waves because it takes a little while learn where to sit and which waves to paddle for.
General The point can produce world class, thick, hollow massive green rooms for those who know how to surf it properly and some hideous wipe outs for those who don't. If it's your first time it's often a good idea to sit on the inside first and catch a few insiders just to get used to how this very unusual wedge actually breaks.
