Characteristics
The west coast of South Africa is strikingly beautiful, sparsely populated, has freezing cold water all year round and is home to a variety of different types of surf breaks, mostly surfed in the Western Cape, leaving the Northern Cape somewhat unsurfed and rarely explored. Known for its long left-hand point breaks such as Elands Bay being one of the most popular, you do not have to travel too far in order to get relatively descent and uncrowded surf most of the year round. A perfect weekend getaway destination from Cape Town.

Weskus is LEKKER!!
Westcoast, what more can I say. Loads of kiff, consistent spots with all types of waves. From shoreys to pointbreaks, reefy's to SIC heavy mutant beasts. One of the top places in the world for surf considering how many good spots there are. I reckon theres deffinately alot more unchecked potential up here, especially in the Northern Cape. When i get time off work im cruising up here to find out myself.

Very good waves here
I am from Chile and came up this coast last year for surf. where i come is good waves but in SA I have never seen so much good and quality surf, esepecially the west coast, so many perfect waves and little people. You are lucky to live here. I will be back.
