Difficult to explain. In the Northern Cape. Drive to Garies, then to the the Langberg mountain range, follow the riverbed to the coast. Theres a coastal road, drive north from Langberg point for about an hour. Keep looking to sea. The wave breaks off the one side of a rocky bay.
Gaweer or 'Rifle Point' is a heavy righthand reef break but looks abit like a point setup as it breaks into a small rocky bay. The length and quality obviously depends on the swell and wind direction. When these are in your favour you can expect a hollow and long ride. Watch out for the reef. very hard to paddle in and out when big. Theres another simular righthander wave on the next small rock bay north along the dirt road. This we call 'Bullets'. Not as long as Gaweer but a short intense ride.
