Park outside "Guidos" pub & restraunt for west beach and just swim accross the river for eastbeach. From Guidos car park you can see both spots easily and make a decision where you want to go.
Still gotta get it lekka
Driven through Port alfred so many times to check East beach for a sesion ...heard good reports about it but never scored any decent shape.Warwick Heny and locals there are cool...hardcore cavemen.Has some open ocean power-the way it's situated.Banks move and change a bit .Not always the same from outside to inside sections.Deceptive and has fed people their arse every now and again.

.....And you give it a two star rating?
I also grew up surfing this amazing break. I have had the most epic days of my life there - it is so consistent and when it fires it FIRES! Just search the web for shots on Eastbeach Port Alfred and youll see what I mean.

West rocks
Having surfed along the eastern cape coast consistantly for over 10 years i can honestly say that Port Alfred on its day can really produce the goods, the east side produces long beefy rights up to at least 8ft but any bigger and the paddle can be a nightmare. If you are up for shorter ride, head over to the west side for some thick wedging A-frames and some of the heaviest barrels along this stretch of coast.Frequented by a some pretty laidback locals, respect them.. they charge.
