Awesome break
I've been bodyboarding and surfing at St Mikes and I will always have the ut most respect for that break. It is the only wave that almost drowned me twice and I surfed my biggest wave Yet there a monster 5m face it was crazy but the greatest day ever

Surfing=dead?
is it just me or has sufing died on the south coast?!?
if this same piece of coastline was somewhere in Australia we would have produced a mick fanning by now...promising surfers emerge and just fade on this coast...bascially you have to move to Durban to experience competative Surfing. C'mon boys lets get on our boards stop bickering about local spots and SURF

Consistency
this wave is strangely really consistent, Ive lived on the coast all my life and if nothings working St Mikes produces the goods
great point break, respect the locals and enjoy.

Brings back memories!!
I lifeguarded St Mikes during the summer of 1995 and cannot tell you how much that place rocks. Would love to get back to South Africa to just surf there and catch up with some great people! Can be an all time wave!!

izzit
Yeah what an awesome spot, those photos dont really do the place justice. I remember almost killing myself by hopping off the rocks too late LOL.
Some of the better rides of my young life.

Wicked Spot
Saints has to be one of the better spots to surf on the coast. South Westerly winds and it CRANKS!!Big heavy barrells!!!4-6feet and you laughing. Been my local break for +- 8 yrs. Definitely worth it!

another expat
This brings back such good memories - I had such good waves on this stretch of coast - St Mikes - Southbroom - Trafalgar and then the Crayfish Inn for beers and blondes afterwards.

Never Flat
I have been surfing this break fairly infrequently over the last 8 years as i live out of town. I tell you, the place never gets flat and always has some sort of a ride. When it works (Mostly Winter) its epic. The water is always warm.Sharks are not a problem. The beach is netted, but even when its not, there is no problem here.

Sydney-Aus
Being an ex-pat I have surf this break on numerous occasions and have enjoyed it.
I still give Southbroom (+/- 15 min drive South)the thumbs-up before St.Mikes.
