Well known wave, gets pretty hectic when big.
Tip: stay at the Secret Spot Surf Camp - great prices, nice people, very good place to chill (www.secretspot.co.za)
This place is very consistent
This place is very consistent, uncrowned, warm water and the locals are so nice!
The sandbars on the rock bottom are always changing giving a variety of peaks going right and left at low and mid tide. Mornings are best.
Next to saltrock there’s Tiffany's Reef for big waves and a barreling shore break for boogieboarders.
They say you need a car to surf South Africa. Not in Salt Rock! I stayed 3 weeks at Ian’s flatlet (www.wheretostay.co.za/chartmanor/) just 50 meters form the surf spot. Check the waves at sunrise!
A green tropical region, tide pool, bars, restaurants supermarket at walking distance. It’s a surfers paradise.
