Try False Bay Mike.. No bru, not quite, head to the false bay side not the atlantic.. Muizenberg is just before Kalk Bay, at the end of a long stretch of beach that leads almost all the way to Strand, which in my opinion is a better spot for beginners. Check a map out, cheers, J

Muizies is fun Muizies is loadsa fun. Anyone complaining about "commercialism" clearly has never been to the northern hemisphere.... Locals are nice bunch and always keen for some jol. The White sharks are always there but considering their long term residence in the bay and the lack of incidents one can only assume they don't like us that much. Bluebottles are more of a problem, dang those things sting!

Give me a break The last time I surfed Muizenberg was back in Febuary 2003 and on that particular day it was big, at least eight feet to the left with a 150-200m ride. Most of the holiday surfers bob around in the break water. Padle out to the back of the line up, about a 150m and enjoy.

What? Firstly what was that sven guy talking about and secondly Muizies is a begginer spot but wait till a huge storm swell comes through and the wind is blowing a true NW this place actually can get good. Last year it got to 8 foot(really rare) with the storm swell. But also 5 years ago they put a pic of muizies in the ZigZag (S.A.) surfing mag and it was a guy standing tall in a 6 foot barrel and if anyone guessed where where it was they got like 10 000 bucks and no one got it so don't say it hasn't ever barrelled because it has (once)NICK

hello !!! HELLO this is a beginner spot so stop the moaning. No harsh breaks just crumbly one's even when its big.Perfect spot to get your partner/friend to learn to surf. The shark attack happened in front of the "lagoon outlet" I haven't seen anyone surf there since, so stick to the right next to the rocks. You have more chance of being eaten by a donkey in Gauteng then by the big Johnies so dont be chicken. Shot

a FAT waste of time... Probably the worst wave in the Cape. Hardly ever gets bigger than 3 foot. Doesnt barrel. When you take off, you gotta dodge longboarders, paddle skiers, sharks and grandpas. Only worth it if your DESPERATE for a surf...*Rating... 2/10.

blah! try and avoid the long boarders, tourists, beginners, kids and blue bottles and you may still hate it as much as i do. truly the most commercial surf spot in the cape
