Between Poppenguine and Mbour, 50 km south of Dakar.
If you go 70 km from Darkar to the south on the Petite Cote, there is a small fishing village namened Toubab Dialaw. There you have to go till the south end of the village. Now, when you see a long sandy beach with a small lake on the left and a nice break on the right you are there.
Don´t hesitate to take the board for some rides. I was surfing there 5 days in December last year and I only met one surfer on this spot. This was a french guy from Dakar. It´s a nice spot with a powerful but smart righthander and if you find this spot you will be a happy surfer for the day. on the end of Toubab Dialaw the road gets worther and worther till you on the beach.
Overview
Atmosphere
Go to Toubab Dialaw and you will met the real Senegal, with friendly people and African way of life. There are places to live for every one. From a nice Gaudi styled hotel to a small room in the reggae bar from Oliver straight on the beach.
General
It was the best spot in my one month surfing vacation. No dangerous reef and friendly people who don´t whant to sell you someting. I only was in Dakar and the Petite Cote for Surfing. This year I will repeat the trip to Senegal and get more information.
toubab dialaw is a special place... keep it without crowd.

last piece of land
damn it! it's our last piece of coast where we can run away from dakar's jungle and its ever growing crowd... leave it to us... don't invade the south coast... francois, i know business is business but let's keep these pictures of Toubab hidden somewhere else than in a surf travelling website... we want "la petite cote" to stay preserved the way it is... Almadies is already way too crowded compared to the old good days... leave us alone!

Check Olivers reggaebar on the beach, nice place with nice people. go 3km to the southend of toubabdialaw and with a good 3-6 feet swell and high tide you find a very long (150m) righthander with a lot of power. attention the bottom is sand and rocks, be carefull, i scrached my feeds. good luck and feel the african way of live
