Costa vs Reunion - Which is better Costa or Reunion? Has any one been in both and can tell me?

give me some advice - Hi, I am planning a surf trip between the end of august and september, any suggestion for a cheap place where I can sleep? Are there places free of sharks with small waves for my girlfriend and her bodyboard?Do I need a car? If yes, and cheap place where I can rent it? thank you to all and good waves

this is one of the best trips - I have been surfing in most countries around the world and the Reunion/Mauritus combo is the best!! The food is great and the people are warm and friendly. Reunion is a part of France, so it is very similar to Europe...i.e. lots of partys and there are topless girls on the beaches, Mauritius is the same but independent. The waves are great, more consistant than Indo, if you are going to visit one you may as well catch the plane or boat to the other. Accomdation is the biggest expense that you will have, but there is a big price range to suit abusineesman and a backpacker and dont rent a car from the airports or a big town, go to a samller town and you will save alot of money...this is a ten out of ten trip. At St Leu and Tamarin there are locals, like any other good break in the world, but they are not nearly as heavy as other places. The ones who hassle are all Kooks, just like every other spot in the world. I swore back at them and didnt get beaten up, in Puerto Rico I had a shotgun pointed at me in a parking lot. Dont hesitate, this is one of the best, most beautiful places on earth.

Prices of accomodations in Reunion - I am living in Angola and looking to take a surf vacation in Reunion. Anyone have any information on affordable accomodations-near the surf, acceptable for my wife and kid as well? I am bit afraid of the prices there.I appreciate it.

The Surfers Eden - I'm a local bodyboarder & I can swear that I have never seen such a diversity of waves in a 3,500 square kilometers territory, except in Hawaii. My favourite spot is "l'Hermitage" because it is not well-known and when the big swell come, it is fantastic.Keep groovy men !!!

turtle reef : yoaaaaa - I have tried the turtle reef, yes, indeed, you have to pay attention if you do not want to be crushed.Else, the wave is great and easy to take, but do not follow it to long time, else, you will have problem with the echenid.
