Cool spot, but you need to know how to treat the locals. - Great spot. I have friends there and it's awesome. The locals are really nice and cool, you just have to respect them and the fact that this is their backyard. You are a guest there and you need to be extra careful to follow all the priority rules. They were probably dicks to you cause you did something stupid to make it obvious you were a tourist. Sharks are always a danger to take when surfing, the great surf spots are the ones that are worth the risk. Picture #4 is the spot in the heart of the bay, "La Langue" and I have seen few people ride those because the waves are so big and so close to shore. I consider those nearly unrideable though. love Reunion Island =D

stop talkin shit!!!!!!! - being a local i can tell there no kooks around here, only cool guys, just give the due respect that u'd like to receive wen u r at home, and u be welcomed like nowhere else on da island! the wave can get some 300meters ride, the picture of it it's just too small to show it ,and there is no 60meters deep channel,it's less than 10meters and the attacks have never been rite on this spot but further both sides of the bay,u can surf it alone at anytime of the day

Perfect wave, very sharky - Over 2.5 metre, the middle section doubles up making a perfect ramp for air.

I love this spot. But to get there you must paddle around the reef through a deep channel (60 metres deep). This is where 3 sharks have attacked. 3/3 deaths. I always feel vunerable and nervous here!!!

I have seen sharks behind and on the reef too

Sharks??? - I have never seen any shark around, just heard of on guy that might have seen the shade of what he thought was a fin... And that's right some kooks are surfing this place, but just don't pay attention. Please remember always to say hello to the locals when you get out there, most of them are really cool.
Peace,
Mowgly

Are you an english surfer or something ??
At the other end of the beach ,there is a nice spot for experienced local only called. The swell can be really nice indeed.

re: picture #1 - picture 1 isn't of the Brisant - the beach break in the picture is called Le Tournant. yes, it's impossible to surf when the swell comes straight on the beach like that. but with the right angle it crests farther out in the bay and its magic.

the Brisant falls on a coral reef farther out on the other side of the bay from where this picture was taken (toward the houses in top right). in picture two, it's not the wave with all the Moreys on it, but the wave behind it at an angle (note; this picture was taken on an average small day - in peak months it lines up in awesome tubes). The wave the biscuit-riders are on is another beach break affectionately called 'Le Simulator'...

No sharks, just freakin' kooks - If u want more infos on sharks on the island,
head up to http://perso.wanadoo.fr/shark.run/,
there you should see there has not been any serious attack
on a major spot here.
The locals are just to f"3#in' poor to buy board anyway!
