Mehdya Beach - Summer 1973 This was the best break I surfed in Morroco! (I surfed north to south Morroco during a 'surfari' of 6 months). The point - break (front-side)was a consistent, perfect 2 metres long - walled wave. Lots of them barrelled -out. Just me & an Aussie Mick Brown surfed the waves for a month together, awesome!!! All the Morrocan locals were great guys!

Hay olas en Kenitra en Verano? Pues nada, seguramente vaya a Kenitra en Julio, y quería saber si suele entrar algo en estas fechas... Gracias

Great surf spot It is true that during summertime it is crowded, yet during the end of summer and spring, it's ok; Aunberge de la Forêt does not exist anymore but there is a nice youth hostel with affordable prices for around 6 euros a night, the best thing is to call them before just to make sure the hostel is open (seasonal hostel). As for the surf spot I think it is one of the top 3 in Morocco, check it out dudes!

I surfed this spot in winter and it was fuckin' big. You can have good waves, even with a small swell. Even in summer the waves get very big. The locals are friendly and the atmosphere is good out there. Mehdia has a very long beach, there are good left hand waves and near the mole there is a superb right hander. This is defenetly one of the best surf spots of Morocco,I don't know why it is rated with only 2 stars.

Great Rights I surfed this place a couple times in winter of '74-'75 and got the most consistent surf I found in the country. The rights off the jetty held beautifully and resembled a quality right point up to 10' on the face. I should've just stayed there and surfed my brains loose but it was the day of exploration (no maps of spots on internet)and I wanted to discover areas to the south.

Rectification.... Believe me, it's one of the greatest spots of morocco, just put minimum 4 stars for this, for sure if you go there after a big winter swell perhaps you got nothing because the sand at the peak's gone,(no more bowl)...so much better than bouznika, just look at the second photo, you'll never find this quality at bouz, even if it could be nice sometimes, if you compare mehdia & bouz, it's like comparing a F1 and a WV combi,so much fun u can have in the combi but the sensations in the formula one is something else...

I Remember... I lived in Mehdya Beach for about a year and a half back in '73 - '74. Never thought I'd read about the place on a computer. Remember some great waves up by the south jetty. Great friends... Great parties... Picking mussels to steam or for stew. I wonder if Auberge de la Foret is still there. What a great old French restaurant!
