I want to make a point that I RESPECT the locals and that day in Tamarin I do not nothing.
I go surf from 24 years travel all around the world and I know the "rules".
This man enter In the water only to catch out of the water me and other foreign surfers.
I read many other posts on this site that report other similar cases.

TO ALL VISITING SURFERS THAT ARE GOING TO TAMARIN FOLLOW THESE RULES AND YOU WONT HAVE NO PROBLEMS. 1. DONT PADDLE UP INSIDE THE LOCAL CREW. 2 LET THE LOCALS HAVE THE CHOICE OF SET WAVES EVEN IF THE GREEDY MONGREL TOOK THE LAST WAVE. 3.FOR YOUR OWN ENJOYMENT AND PEACE OF MIND SURF THE MIDDLE SECTION AND DOWN THE INSIDE SECTION, LOTSA TIMES THESE LOCALS TAKE OFF SO FAR INSIDE AND GET DUSTED AND THE REST OF THE WAVE GOES UNRIDDEN. 4 TAKE A SLOW APPROACH DONT GO WANTING EVERY WAVE THIS REALLY GETS THESE GUYS UPSET, 5. MOST IMPORTANT DONT LET THESE MOTHERS STAND OVER YOU NO MATTER WHAT,ONCE YOU WEAKEN YOU MAY AS WELL PADDLE IN PACK YOUR BAGS AND GO HOME.

hi, I have heard conflicting report about the locals on Mauritius, and I would just like to hear from one of them exactly what I can expect to find when I get there, I am going to spend two weeks there in oct on my honeymoon, and would like to get a few sessions in, I am respectful in the water and always are even more respectful to the locals, I have a Mauritian non surfing friend who lives here in Ireland and can’t believe there is as much agro as reported, if someone could give me an honest outlook it would be greatly appreciated

So are you saying these 'French-dip' white-drawer brats won't share the lefts off the point?!
When I get there to exercise my rights as an American-International surf traveller, one who wears red/white/blue multi-colored surf-trunks whilst taking a natural goofy-foot stance on the lefts I prefer, will these white French-drawers kids actually try hassling me for the lefts I'll be taking off on at Tamarin Point? They REALLY need t express their proper gratitude for what the Americans have done for their freedom barely 1/2 dozen decades ago! If these 'tidey-whitey' boys don't show the respect where it's due--for any American Citizen on holiday there--then they'll simply have to be taught a proper lesson in gratitude from ALL of US!!

Would like to use this site to remember a great friend i met in Tamarin 29 years ago who has sadly passed away. Not a surfer but a local creole named Norber who was a damn fine football player in his day ( along with Dad, Michel Ricot, Francois, Leg, Catchik etc ) & great family man. He allways had a huge smile & thats the way i will remember him, i'll miss you mate, please pass this onto his family if anyone in the Bay reads this, thanks. Peter Ryan.

yeeeeeeeees another ass hole who will not come and surf our wave hahhahaha... just a short lesons of history ( in mauritius before the ducth ( the whites) came the only local of the island was the dodo then the dutch came and after french came with the slaves ( the blacks) to colonised the island then blablabla)... now if you want to talk about who are or not the locals i can help you, the real locals are the people who were borned here... and now if you see tha i have a bad english ...FUCK YOU MOTHER FUCKER!!!! white shorts are back with a new friend gang ' a noname the creole crew' hahahaha ... cheers dick head

Hey I had the same experience of the pussy white shorts (one actually a white franco mauritian anus with the worst attitude in the water I have ever seen anywhere I have surfed around the world. I was respecting the locals and friendly and caught as many waves as I wanted on the inside (not sets which I left to the locals out of respect, and he still had extreme attitude and tried intimidation tactics. What a prick, the real local mauritian surfers said just ignore the asshole and I did.Its not the real local islanders causing the trouble as they who are pretty mellow and friendly like all island people, its the french whities who have colonised the island with their genes and now think they own the place...I wont bother to waste my money going there again plenty of better waves available and friendlier locals around the world. Its a good break when it works two days in 3 weeks I was there)but not worth the hassle and aggro which just spoils everyones day. I place the surfers curse on thata MOFO, may every set in every ocean break on your head and grind you deep into the coral haha what a misereable existence to have to act like a mega asshole every time you paddle out....that must suck that your life is so pathetic that the main buzz you get is hassling other fellow watermen....loseeeer...
