we surf calamar is not a easy spot to surf,if have more than six foot is very dangerous because it close out,the best direction to surf calamar the swell must be frome E.N.E.then you cant surf the best point on the right if the right is about seven foot no probleme to surf,if you are a good rider.

Calamar
Calamar is near "pointe aux piments" from "Trou aux biches" in direction of pointe aux piments, you have to follow the coast until you reach a long public beach with many trees, you have to follow it and at the end turn right just before the hotel, to get to the spot you have to go in front of the hotel and paddle to the waves... Its a nice spot for beginners because its powerless but fun...

After more than 2 months I still have no reply regarding a safe surfing spot location for a 10 years old kid in Mauritius!! Does anyone know any location shark protected in Mauritius? I have asked for calamar location but still no reply!

good spot for longboarding?
is calamar a good spot for longboarding? i am wondering if there are any fun, mellow, longboarding breaks in mauritius or they are all fast, powerful, barelling waves like tamarin. mahalo for your advice!

hey
i surfed calamar a few times during the year. small and shallow.olso powerless..then mid december some friends and i went for a trip up north, it was a day after a cyclone.it was breaking from a public beach all the way down to the rocks. it went up to 12 fot. one of the biggest ive surfed on this island..was nice..
well if you come to mauritius ..come in december ..but please respect the locals spot..except for people at6 tamarin.they are little shits.FRANCOS..they have to be ass kicked one day..k well enjoy
