Description:
Went to Boston Bay and stayed at "The Great Huts" (greathuts.com) on the side of the bay , just steps down to the "Hut's" private beach area on an easy paddle out to the far break. The first 2 days the waves were on average 6 ft. faces with 8 ft. sets. All week long the waves averages 3 to 5ft. the weekend crowd was only maybe 10 to 12 people in the whole bay max. and on the weekdays most of the time it was me or 1 or 2 others and sometimes me alone, especially during my second sessions in the late afternoons (4 to 6 PM). There was a surf school/shop shack that rented boards, mostly shortboards and some longboards, also the locals from the surf shop gave surf lessons too. It was a great place to stay at the "Great Huts" and to surf at too. It was located about a 30 minutes or so away from the very busy town of Port Antonio, which was great. I donated about 10 old but good named brand board shorts, hats, stickers and a funboard to the surf shop and local surfers too. Which was a great feeling and it help my stay there be even greater. I look forward to returning next Dec/Jan. if I don't go back to Costa Rica for my 3rd time. My next trip will be in Tahiti at the end of June. Richard
