Surf trip description:

Went to Stad in Norway together with my girlfriend, stayed at the surf house in Hoddevik (check www.stadsurfing.com) and teamed up with Stein-Erik and Maria.

Surfed 7 sessions in 6 days. Had surf every day, except Thursday, which was ok since we were tired.

Wind conditions were difficult at times, but we had some very good surf. Cool to surf in hailstorm.

I improved my surfing quite a lot during the stay. The two last days I managed to catch almost every wave I went for, started turning and had some long rides of 15 secs+. Felt good!

We met some new surfing friends down there; Geir, Eva and Heidi from Bergen. Helge from Stavanger (with whom we'll surf a lot when we move over there, I hope) and Carlos from Colombia. He had never surfed wearing a wetsuit, but adjusted quickly and rode the waves like a pro.

Description:

Had a nice morning surf together with Carlos from Colombia. We went out at around 10 in the morning and paddled out north of the middle of Hoddevik, following a rip out. We then paddled almost all the way south. We had to adjust quite a bit from one set to the next, but when we finally were in the right spot, we caught some good, quite heavy waves. I was proud of getting three out of the three first waves I tried to surf this morning. The session ended after approx 1 hour, since we had to leave for Oslo, besides I was out of energy after a very light breakfast.
