When you have a month to kill and the winter swells decide to come early, its pretty obvious whats going to happen.

Decide to visit mmy sister in sydney but im gonna take a couple of weeks getting there...

Description:

so I capitulated, intimidated by the freakish breaks at boulders and lennox i headed for byron where i knew this punishing swell would be tamed.

about 150 other blokes thought the same thing and we jostled to be the most ridiculously inside surfer on the peak. got some great rides though, really fun. only problem was the very real danger of hitting another surfer, actually cost me a couple of really nice waves. All in all though i'm really glad i went, I've finally opened my account on this trip.

Scary stuff at lennox yesterday. This time i was the only one out and it felt very dicey. Too heavy for me i'm afraid. Ended up washed down to main beach again, relieved to not have perished after a huge nosedive. This trip better improve...

Description:

first surf of my soon to be legendary surf trip to sydney.

really nice looking waves coming in off lennox point, but about 70 blokes in the water.

my arms are coming off the couch so i don't last long against the current. Doesnt matter, the look of these waves has got me excited about the rest of the trip.

surf quality 8/10. my performance 1/10

overall i guess that averages to a 4.5!
