I was a little disappointed when we arrived as the sandbank was not really working. After one hour, it was crowded and we decide to move. We found a really nice peak : rights and lefts, pretty fast and hollow. I got really good waves with fun tubes ! a good session at the end

Description:

I didn't expected much waves this morning but we decided to have a look. And we found this: a 80cm - 1m perfection !!! Cool

yb080511leporgea yb080511leporgeb

A good right-left. I started with my fish alone on those candys. The people strated to come and I get my longboard. It was really fun to surf as the waves were pretty long with a perfect shape.

yb080511leporgec The crowd starts

At one time, there was too much people so I decided to change. I went to a smaller peak with a 60cm perfect wave !!!! It was such a pleasure to take all the waves with nearly no paddle and just stand up on the longboard.

At the end, it was a gooood session....

I went back to the water later in the day but, except the turn below, it was crappy.

We get a really big tempest this week... so I didn't expected that there was waves today. But...this morning... sunny sky...long swell. I took my afternoon and went to Le Gurp. When I arrived, waves seemed small but I noticed TUBES !!! I just jumped into the water....

As usual at Le Gurp, waves were bigger than thought. It was a long hollow wall with some tubes. We were only 3 in the water. After I forced me to slow down while staying high on the face even if the wave was fast and hollow... and I caught the tube !

My second tube was different: I went straight pretty far the I turned while letting the wave coming other me, I put a top turn (the hard part) and the wave passed other myhead: it was a standup tube, I even watch the sun trough the lip other my head.

The images below don't show the good waves as I wanted to run to the water....

Waves height: 1.5m-2m /5ft-6ft

Waves Quality:

Description:

The report announced 1.2 to 1.5 m. When I came on the beach it was rather 1.5 to 2m, powerful and ledgey with beautiful rights.

There was no one in the water. I decided to go. The shorebreak was difficult to pass as it was so hollow. I haven't the level to surf there. I went to the outside bank at 500 m outside. Waves were big and the peak was moving and there was a lot of current.

After few tries, I managed to catch a wave and I realized that my board was too short: I should have take my 6'8".

When I was waiting to the peak, a bigger set came...I dive but Sealed I hear a 'clounch' , It was my leash... and my board went away.

So the situation was: alone in the water, 500m outside, strong currents, with big sets. I didn't felt comfortable. I have started to swim back to the beach and staying at the impact zone to avoid the currents. After 15 mn of paddle I get my board which was stuck ed just between the bowl and the rip currents. Ouf ! I get my board.

The second obstacle was the insane shorebreak: I lost again my board to avoid to be knocked with it (a bodyboarder was dead here 2 weeks ago for the same reason...)

I actually managed to swin to the beach...and I decide to come back home !

Waves were difficult to take and I only caught 10. But 5 of them were bombs !! Big drop, big turn and a long hollow wall. I was 2 times at the end of the tube. I get also 3 falls-with-the-lip. And the lip was thick.

At the end a really good session.

The waves were really easy to take and highly rippable: you could choose either to do some tricks or to tube. It was heaven, the Indonesia in France.

I have done all the tricks I am able to do: tubes, floaters, reentry, cut backs and, yes, small aerials.

I met the young guys of the surf club of Guidel: the waves were crowded with them but as they respected stricly the surf rules, it was fun to surf with them.

The roe-deer was terrfied with hunters and it just jumped in the ocean and started to swim. It was caught by the current and finished in the open sea. With Chris, we take it back ( ang get a lot of sets on our head on on the head of the roe-deer).
At the end, we finally get it out of the water. It was exhausted and just fall on the beach. Ten minutes after, it wen to the forest.
