Description:
Une session très courte sur Bali. Après avoir été voir Uluwatu et manger là bas, on est passé par Padang Padang et finalement choisi Dreamland pour les enfants. Parking payant 15.000 Rp et loc excessive; ils demandaient 200.000 Rp pour 1h de surf; j'ai finalement eu le prix Lombokien à 50.000 mais ils n'étaient pas très cool.
Dreamland est un shore break, ça casse au large sur du sable avec de gros remous. J'ai trouvé la vague très molle et avec la 6'6'' galette de loc que j'avais, c'était même pas la peine :-(

Description:
Je suis parti à la rame du bord, à côté de Puri Nusa. C'est long! Je dirais qu'il y a bien 700 m voir plus. La passe est marquée par un drapeau rouge qu'il faut laisser sur babord. De l'autre côté, sur le reef, il y a pas mal de poteaux en bois.
Je suis arrivé au peak un peu fatigué, avec ma 6'4'' de location... et bien pour un gros 2m50, c'était un peu léger! Il y avait une dizaine d'Ozies à l'eau avec un super niveau qui se gavaient. Bref, à moins de partir plus à l'inside qu'eux, c'était pas simple de se caler pour en prendre une!
J'en ai pris une moyenne de 2m environ, fait trois ou quatre virages et je me suis retrouvé un peu près du reef. Assis sur la planche, les pieds touchaient! Bref, c'est une vague assez chaude et il ne faut pas trop la faire durer car au fond, il n'y a vraiment pas d'eau du tout.
Je ne sais pas si c'est sur cette vague ou la suivante mais j'ai fini par casser ma dérive tribord. Je ne m'en suis pas aperçu tout de suite; ça devait être sur une vague où je me suis fait boiter. Ca explique aussi les deux ou trois gamelles qui ont suivies... essayez de surfer une droite bien creuse sans dérive tribord!!!!!
Le soleil se couchait et j'ai pas trop traîné pour rentrer, on commençait à plus trop voir où il fallait passer pour rentrer!

Une seule session sur Lombok; de passage en famille près de Kuta Lombok... On s'est arrêté à Grupuk. Il y avait là à peu près tous les surfeurs de Kuta, à croire que c'est le seul spot du coin (à Kuta, c'était un peu torchon, faut avouer). J'ai croisé James et Rob, deux Anglais qui arrivaient de Kuta et on a partagé le bateau. Un bon quart d'heure pour rejoindre la vague. Il y avait une bonne dizaine de surfeurs à l'eau, mais c'était ok. J'ai pris 11 vagues de 2M+. Puissants, de bons murs au take off! La vague est rapide mais pas trop. Au fond des rochers et des algues; je me suis fait rouler une ou deux fois; c'est noir mais il y a de l'eau. Une vague "safe". Une belle session avec soleil couchant et des mecs cool à l'eau.

1m swell was schedduled for the late afternoon ant t was there... but in Bidart at high tide, there is only a strong shorebreak and no surf is possible. I would recommand only low tide or mid tide.

I started to take photos with my Subal housing. After 4/5 waves with paul & Remi, I dive under a big wave and lost a fin :-(
Then, I get my board I started to take some waves. Just in and Hugo grab me a good wave, paddeling on the inside. Fucking guy. Spending 45 min to take picture and he still fight to grab waves over me. That's not fair!!!
I was upset, then get a 1.5m wave and fall after the take off. The wave smach me on the reef and kick my ass (maybe a broken coxis bone!). Some cuts on the coral and a big pain in my ass !!!!

Missed Riffles, so we went to 4 bobs. This spot is really good for regular surfers (means non-aliens looking for2m+ barrels)... but ther is no water! We ofter touch the corals with the fins when waiting for the sets :)
Surf with just Remi and paul at the begining, cool to be 3 on the spot!

A solid 2m+ session with Yann and a frind of him named Thibaut. The Biscay buoy reports a swell of 3.5 to 4.0m... oups, the waves were here. Massive 2m+ powerful waves :) Got 4/5 of them. Really cool

Very good waves, it was a long time we havn't got so great waves here. The sand bank is good. The swell was here (even with a small swell predicted by Windguru), increasing during the day. Got some really good waves today; two in memory, a very long right starting far up to the shore break; and a very good tube on a heavy wave!

Back to Le pin sec. Solid swell. Hesitation between here and northern spots such as Le Gurp, L'Amélie. But finally, this was the best choice. A surfer coming back from thenorth said it was too small for Le Gurp and not good at Soulac.
Took 5 big waves: 4 lefts and 1 right. Solid (overhead), fast. A continuous current from N to S. Paddeling all time. The shorereak was very impressive. Had to pass thru :(

Description:
First try for Marina, Bruno's daughter. Conditionswere not perfect for an attempt! Established north wind,very strong current, and powerful waves. Marina did not succeed well.Only on her knees :( After this, I took several waves. 4 were good. A massive take off on a 1.5m swell. The shore break was not terrific but there were so many people on the shore it was difficult not hitting anybody! This is definitely not a spot for an august session...

First session at Le Cimetière. Start at low tide and wait for mid-hight tide. The swell was not here, lower than expected. I had some small waves, then switch to a surf-lesson with Gaëlle. She did great, took 4/6 waves and was up!

With Yann & Gabby. Only 3 surfers at 8:30 and 3 cars on the parking. 2hrs later, the peak was a bit crowded but waves better than expected (1m insted of 0.7 from the surf report). Blue sky, glassy water and a small offshore wind. Great session.

Familly session at Le Petit Crohot. Summer is here with tourists, small waves, onshore wind :( Parking was full ! 4/5 guys at the peak, but it was really small. The beach was crowded of topless women :) One nice girl at the peak wearing a bikini and a lycra. Nice to share waves with her...

Better waves at mid-high tide at la Jenny. I spent 30+ min in the baïne current catching few left waves. I was very tired when I switch to another peak. The SuperFish works well ! Enjoy the girls on the beach :)

Swell was there but sandbanks not! It was a massive shorebreak. I caught few waves, some of them was 1.2m+ near 1.5m... Engaged take-off ! The new 7S SuperFish works great!

Bertrand left and I returned to the big left on the south alone. Just took 2 waves cos we had to leave. Unfortunately, it was not the best choice. When we left, from the top of the dune, the best spot (high tide) was definitely the two north sandbanks.

Good first session of the day with Bertrand. We start by trying to catch the huge swell offshore, but only took two good waves. Tide was going up and the waves was not good after all. We moved to the south (300m paddling) to a good left. 1.5m and maybe 2m when big series. We were 8 to the peak, and it was really good and powerful.

Well, as Yann said, this session was really bad. The swell was there but sandbanks not.
The first hour, I only took one right. The rest of the time, just waiting for a non-closing swell. beurk! Finally, we decided to go 100m north and take the small second-waves after the main swell crash on the main sandbank. It was much funny, I took several small waves during the last 30 min.
Then Olivier asked me if I had already seen a road deer swimming in the ocean... I said, What??? And it was true, something looking as a roe deer or a doe was swept along by the current (a baïne as we called them here). After some seconds, I decided to reach the animal and help him not to swim against the current but bypass the current by swimming side to the shore for a few meters, then returning to the shore more easily.
I join the animal very quickly, the current was on my side. He was certainly asking himself was was this stange animal on this white wooden stick :) I force him swimming in the good direction, then we reached the beach. As many people was interested by the scene, the animal was more scary by those pople than the waves (sic!) and preferred to jumb back into the waves.
This time, Yann helped me (he was swimming fast!!!). We forced him to return to the beach a second time, and said to everyone to step back. He was so exhausted that one more wave would kill him. He stayed closed to the shorebreak, so I had to carry him out... He was howling without beeing able to move. Really too tired to move forward.
He just walked 20m and laied down for some rest. We changed our clothes and 30min later, he went away into the dunes. Hope he will survive his surf session...
