Description:
Paddled out at Secos on my way home from work. I normally like to ride my 7'9" here but I only had my shortboard with me. Oh well, I paddled out into a fairly crowdedline-up. then again...3 people at Leo can be crowded depending on how consistent the wave is. I saw the regular crew of longboarders and I managed to pick of some waves even with the shortboard. It was ok, nothing eppic, bui fun.

Description:
The swell was a little better organized the morning of the fourth. It's alwasy great to get waves on a holiday. the bars are still not great, and the wave was a little fat, and would back off after your first turn. I took a thicker 80's shortboard out, and it was definitely the right call. Not the best session, but it was fun.

Description:
Surfed south side of the pier.
I should have dawn patrolled it, but it was still a nice day in any case. Sun was out, and beautiful weather. The water has warmed up a lot in VC, so I was kind of hot in my 4/3. It felt like I could have trunked it, but definitely a spring suit would have been better. It was a little onshore by the time I got there, but I still found some ramps to play with.

Description:
Ok so the Kook at Oceanside Pier was actually me.
I drove dowwn from Ventura, and the Pacific was pretty much flat everywhere. I was visiting relatives in Oceanside, so of course I had to bring my board. So why was I a Kook. Well it was the wetsuit that gave me Kook status. I didn't realize it was already 70 plus degrees down there, and I was burning up in a 4/3 full suit. everyone else was pretty much trunking it, so I kinda stood out like a soar thumb.
The waves were not that great, but I managed to find a couple of faces to play with.

Description:
Came back to Leo and brought my 7'9" fun board this time. Caught alot more waves, and it was breaking outside the rock so it was challenging being the only goofyfooter sitting the deepest on the point. I actually bailed just to the right of the rock, and thought my board crashed into it, but somehow it survived, and I kept surfing. The KELP is ridiculous but it makes for a smaller crowd, and causes all the shortboarders to sit on the inside of the kelp. Fun session, but could've been epic with no kelp.

Description:
Took my 80s 6'0 thruster to Leo on Friday. There is tons of kelp right now at Leo so I needed a board with less rocker and more thickness to push through all that salad. The crowd wasn't that bad, because of the kelp, and I managed to catch some from the outside, but had to be strategic when trying to make it through the kelp. Keith Malloy paddled out on a longboarder with a camera, and Im sure he did the same thing as I did, traveling south because there is no waves in Ventura.

Surfed a relatively uncrowded Cliff-House on the rising tide. It got really good for a while and was barreling right by the main rock. I had a nice B-side barrel and plenty of long rights into the cove. I love this place.

Description:
It had been a while since this Oxnard boy has surfed the Bu. Given the fact that I work 15 minutes away, sometimes it's easy just to hit up second point rather than drive home and make the glass off. Besides, if you live in Oxnard, you know that glassoffs are a rare thing. So the only thing that makes this session truly worth mentioning is the fact that Kalani Robb was in the line-up this day surfing betwen second and third point. It's kind of a shocker to see a Kuai boy surfing the LA Zoo, but I managed to chat with Kalani for a few minutes and he seems like a pretty cool cat. He still kills it by the way, but then again..I wasn't surfing so bad myself. We've had a few back to back souths right now, but the wind conditions haven't been perfect. the Bu always seems to have the best wind conditions out of the breaks in LA towards evening.
