Thought this place would be nice with a WNW Swell, 9 ft at 13 seconds... boy, was I wrong.. not even worth it... there were a few people out, the waves were breaking all over the place with no consistency...
the waves were bouncing off the point... so I got out... and went south!

The best Oregon Surf I have ever been in... used Magic Seaweed and it predicted the best waves ever. Glad I made the drive out from Albany...
The rip at high tide was working and took me out to the break, which was about 200 yards to the south of the point... break clean and hard - lefts and rights. Over head to overhead 1/2.... excellent.. the seven rides were worth it!!

Just a normal day at Jobos... bitch of a local cutting people off and picking up people's boards... telling people to stay away from the rock..
I had a great time, great walking to nose on board and just had an overall good time with my friend out there...
shouldn't have gone out the second time... just too crowded and not great waves...

Was going out here to check the point break with the waves high and the tide going out... didn't quite work out the way I wanted it to... but ended up surfing a good day with head high to over head waves down the beach some.. only a few people out today and it was good... the wind cooperated and kept the waves decently clean... very steep faces and powerful... ate sand once or twice... but kept going back out.. what an experience.. don't think I will go out here again until the winter SW - W swell comes in and makes that right point go off!!

My friend and I had gone to Agate Beach near the head before coming to south beach... the fog was so thick we couldn't really see out to the break...all we could see were the waves pounding the rocks on the inside... so we decided to give the south jetty a try... and what a great time.. no one out there.. the fog was still thick but we could paddle out without hitting anything and could see clean, nice waves coming through. Definitely one of the better days... !!!!

One of the best waves I have ridden in my life of surfing (6 years)... it was consistent.. great place to go after work... could get in for two hours in the warm water... and not get too crowded... went out on big days with one or two other people.... broke two long boards there on 15 foot waves... perfect on small or big days...overall, would go back in a heart beat... long paddle out, but worth it!

This is the wave I first learned on and stuck with during my time living in San Diego... yes, I moved up and down the coast, but when I got off work... here is where I ended up... broke my board hitting the pier a few times... put some stress fractures in the front of my board nose diving... but overall, every time, had a great time... what a classic spot!
