Description:
The forecasts were not very good : small waves, strong north winds and a very big tide (99) but I decided to have a go. I just needed to surf!
If it was clearly not my best session, I had some fun because the waves were hollow and allowed you to do 2 tricks (no more as they were short). It was hard because of the current.
A bad day at the beach is better than a good day at work.

Description:
This was so crap, i left home all syked up to go,got the train down to exmouth and met my mates. Got to the beach and it was freezing cold, and at the time the only suit that barley fitted me was a crap summer shorty.Got changed,borrowed some boots and got into the water. FREEZING!!!! rubbish slow waves, stayed there for 30 mins before id had enough. 3 waves, which did nothing and all round body numbness.

Description:
I used to live in the barracks over looking this break so I surfed it pretty much every morning for 6 months straight. as long as you stay in the water they cant do much to you. This break typically sux pretty bad. high tide low winds and at least a 3 to 4ft sw swell will do. once its over 5 feet,lowtide or wind over 10 knts... good luck finding a corner to ride. U can surf it if u r a civi, just dont get on the beach. Plus the guard tower is now typically manned buy a civilian/ex-mil sec. guard(fat ass).

We left Shelly Beach in the morning and made our way through masses of villages surrounding Sydney. Our decision was to go to Manly. Ken gave me that great hint to stay there with the camper van and explore Sydney by ferry. After 3-4 days next to flatness the promised swell hit the coast so I decided to catch some waves before going to the city - but prior to this there was another challange: Parking at the beach is a hassle. First there is no free lot and second You have a limited time to stay. As I wanted to surf for more than 30 minutes I left the car far away from the beach and took a walk down. The session was okay but the break was crowded. Friday afternoon was the wrong time to take a lonesome ride.

After two days of next to nothing the small waves at Shelly Beach gave us hope the forecast which promised more was right. Again it was a day with too much wind from north/east so the waves haven't been really good. We drove to Avoca to have a look but it was even worse, so we went back to Shelly and trie4d to catch a wave there. In the evening at the caravan park I searched the beachside of the place for an exit directly to the beachfront but all I found was a sign with the following inscription:
"Jump the fence and You will be asked to leave..."

Surfed with Brian and ran into McCarthur, Blake, and Waterworth. I tried to ride Brian's fish at the end, but it was too small for me. Brian charged the biggest wave of the day on his 10 ft long board and ate it, messing him up for the rest of the weekend.

Totally hot sun plus a small swell. The wind dropped since yesterday at Bonny Hills so we got clean waves. Unfortunately the sets came in every 10-15 minutes only. Glassy lightgreen walls but a bit too small...Outlook is for 1-2 days flatness so we went around the Smiths Lake to Seal Rocks on a f*****g dirt road and then to Nelson Bay. All we found was not enough to make a session out of it.

Nobody there but me in the mornig, but too much onshore wind for the small waves.
Very bad conditions, no ride longer than 10-15mtrs. The swell dropped to 1/3 of the size after the weekend. The weather report gave outsight for less waves, with a hope for better swell not before thursday. However - Bonny Hills is worth a look. Nice landscape and a small caravan parc up the hill overlooking the beach - great!

Catching waves together with friends is always smashing. But this session was really something special! Ken and me met at Anglet/Les Cavaliers in the mid 90's. He lived in Great Britain that time and moved to OZ a couple of years later. Contact never abandoned and so it was the highlight of our 2007 east coast tour to meet him and his family at Cabarita. We went out late saturday afternoon at glassy conditions so the break was packed with borads. It was really hard to catch a wave but Ken and his friends gave a couple of nice walls to me. It was a pleasure to take a ride together with real sportsmen - unforgettable!

Description:
After spending one day+night at Bunjalung NP and driving back north in a big bow to look up at the Mount Warning we made our way to the coast and found a nice place at Wooyung near Pottsville. I was late afternoon and the wind didn't allow cleaner sets, so it was only a short session just to get wet after atwo days in the "jungle".

As we arrived at Evans Head I suddenly felt like I have been here before.
At second view, I found many things - landscape, harbour jetty, wave direction - similar to my favorite break at Anglet/Les Cavaliers!
Matching to this impressions weather and wave quality was top so it was the best day of the trip so far. We met a couple of locals from our age so it was a long talk after a long session.

Description:
Great fucking surf around Barcelona at the end of the year. If you are lucky you will find some excelent beginner waves. and for the more andvanced surfers huge waves during storm are also to find. Sand bottom and a lot of sunshine.

First real summerday since Bundaberg. Afternoon session, many surfers out.
It was not easy to catch a wave, since they wre breaking sometimes here sometimes there. After all, Byron Bay was a bit too busy for us so we decided to go further south.

Description:
From Bribie Island we went along the Gold Coast to Surfers Hell. As we saw the skyline it was clear not to waste too much time with overdeveloped cities. Also the weather went even worse so it was no good idea to paddle out at any spot around town. We found better conditions at Fingal Head but it was not worth a long disquision.
