Description:
I came back inthe evening because the wind dropped down. It was high tide and the swell was smaller than the morning. It was nearly only a shorebreak. But sometimes, few waves were opening. They were very fast and hollow. I got few good ones and the last one was the best one: a good beautiful tube (I pulled in and get out...). A good session at the end.
no turns, just trimming along the fast line

Today was a fun day and glorious to be out in the sunshine with waves. Some nice shape but all breaking from the one peak. A number of take off points would have made things easier. Some great talent down here and so good just to watch others. Not much luck with the longboard, can't seem to make the drop. Will need to move right back from now on and try inching forward to find my spot. Some fun rides on the 7'6, which feels really natural.

April come she will and "Spring Break" has sprung! The Cherry trees are in full bloom back East and the warm California sun was shinning on a picture perfect day at Ray Bay.

Loveliest of trees, the cherry now
Is hung with bloom along the bough,
And stands about the woodland ride
Wearing white for Eastertide.
Now, of my three score years and ten,
Twenty will not come again,
And take from seventy springs a score,
It only leaves me fifty more.
And since to look at things in bloom
Fifty springs are little room,
About the woodlands I will go
To see the cherry hung with snow.

Description:
This morning we actually had some decent waves. Started out a little slow with the early morning high tide but picked up and conditions stayed clean. Warm and sunny with a mix of NW and Southern Hemi ground swells in the water and light off-shore breeze.
When the Pier gets really good the swells all merge into big peaks that refract off the breakwall into what we call "Harvey Wall Bangers". The wave suddenly jumps up to one and a half times its size like "The Wedge" at Newport ... you free fall down the face and if you make the drop, your in a cannon barrel churning over the shallow inside sand bar!
Picked off three good one each one better than the last! The creme de la creme was a big overhead wall that came grinding through. Took off way deep by the sea wall, with the peak feathering over my head, top turned and started pumping like crazy in a half crouch. The wave was totally walled out in front and grinding over me but my board was just flying and skipping, it was going so fast. I made it across the inside sandbar to the shore break banked off the top and fell down the face on to my side. Don't know if it was the speed or the height but it hurt like a sonofabitch. Knocked the wind right out of me. Came up gasping like a fish. Everyone was hooting and hollering but all I could do was give a thumbs up!
(Was riding my new Auz EPS/Epoxy Quad using the two outer 4.6" Future's with a 4" trailer. One thing you notice, it top turns much better than a regular longboard and holds the highline speed track. The photo above is my old 9'2" Jean Luc 2+1 and you can see the low slow position.)
1 oz Grey Goose Vodka
1/2 oz Galliano® herbal liqueur
4 oz fresh squeezed Orange juice
Pour vodka and orange juice into a collins glass over ice cubes and stir. Float galliano on top and serve with a sprig of mint and lemon peel.
Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was a good day to start this years season. Wave build-up was looking good from Wednesday. £ of us went. About 30 - 40 people with mid tide going to high.
Waves were steady and powerful, stayed that way till nearly high tide. Wind picked up for about 30 mins and was pushing the waves over, closing out early, but still powerful. After that it went flat (as usual with high tide) but picked up pretty soon again, the afternoon was not so good, waves were a bit mushy, sets of two cancelling each other out and the a set of 10 would hit with some good walls. Turned into a lot of white water then. Worst thing was the brain freeze while getting in. Thank god for my fireskin suit, but the sun was out so i didn't go with the cap.

got there at about 6am and it was so small that it was bearly breakng so we went to check club cap but there was no banks so we headed back to rafts. i paddled out and took a few waves and headed to the other side os the reef got a little rail grab barrel on a left, saw a set come through on the other side and went back about 5 miniutes later the 2 foot day was well overhead. took the second wave of the first set and nailed my forhand hacks and and did a masive kick out just in time to see some poor basted go over the falls and it just kept getting better.
until about the 6th set (the biggest of the day) came through. i wasent keeping an eye on the drift coz i was chatting to some bloke when he turned around and started going i saw the wave coming anf figurerd i was safe, but in classic rafts fashion the wave jacked up and sucked all the water off the reef under me. at this stage i was shitting brick's(also making the reef shallower) there was no way out so i turned towards the shore and sprint paddled(it fucken hut).
took a few more waves got barreld and distroyed the sets and went home

Got out at bout 3pm and the waves were leaving a lot to be desired. Sketchy all over the place seemed to be the theme for the first hour or so, then when the after noon onshore winds picked up and the tide started moving out the waves picked up and were a lil more consistant. No tubes or anything but fun chasers with room for 1 or 2 flat spins believe it or not. 3 bodyboarders and 5 surfers made for a good atmosphere, thought the kind of smallish decent breaking section made sure that there were some close calls and bails for every1 taking on. Not a bad day at all though

Description:
This shot was taken this morning (from a distance) inside the breakwater at low tide. Was riding my new EPS/Epoxy 9'0" x 23" x 18" x 15" x 3" swallow tailed 'Kingfisher' quad. Waves were pretty clean, waist to chest with shoulder plus sets. Dead low tide over at Barracuda's by the North wall of the breakwater and kind of closing out but if you picked the right wave it was fast and fun.
Was riding with the 2 X 4.6" outside Future fins and a single 4" trailer. The 4" is actually one of the inside quad fins and is slightly foiled however usually you can not tell the difference, this morning however it was fast enough to make the fin hum.
You can see how much you can lay the rail in with this hybrid versus a regular longboard!

Description:
I thought I will too late with the tide as it was a big tide (coef 106) but the sandbankstayed good nearly all the low tide. It was only one hour before the low tide that the waves started to close out.
I got powerful lefts. Not all the waves were good to be surfed. I have done really fun turns. A good session.
the beginning of the wave wasn't powerful and it was hard to take.
but the end was a hollow opening wall.

I didn't know nothing about surfing before booking my tickets to Brazil last August. When I arrived in Praia da Pipa, a small nice village 1/5 hours from Natal, I saw big waves and surfers walking back to the village. During my stay I took some courses and as soon as I learned to stand up, I got the virus!!
After surfing in praia da pipa I continued surfing in almost every place I visited.

Description:
On a sloppy day at camel, at 5:30 p.m., I talked myself into paddling out to join about 30 people to rebound from my lost gun blues. There were waves to ride, but not great by any stretch of imagination. The sun set beautifully at around 7:20 and the crowd quickly vanished leaving only three of us to make sure no good waves got passed us. The wind completely stopped and the formerly dead-low tide close-out started jacking up and ripping off the bar! We decided to stay out though the horizon was fading to darkness. The guy rode a wave all the way in, leaving a gal and I in the moonlight riding many waves. When I slipped out the back of a long ride, I made the decision to paddle right back out, for the waves were better than I had seen them all day. Upon arrival back into the line-up, I noticed that she was still there. We repeated this process time after time until I said to her, "If you are going all the way in, let me know, but as long as you are out here, I'm staying." Riding a meaty wave in the dark all alone is what I had to do to when she rode in!

We planned on going up to Boca for a usual session, but Boca was flat as glass. So me and my riding partner decided to jump on I-95 for the trip north. We got up to Fort Pierce and discovered it was well worth the 2 hour drive. The tide was just going down and the waves were picking up. Great waves, great hotties, great people, and fun. Great session all in all. Long overdue, south florida surf has SUCKED lately.. Thank god for Saturday.

Just spent the entire day with my best mates surfing and goofing off in the lineup. The conditions were so small and we were just having a blast out in the water surfing and joking around. Maybe 20 people out but more than enough waves for all. Just an all around fun day, conditions were nice and glassy. Small but beautiful. Can't wait for spring break, non-stop Trestles!
