Description:

Went out for a pre work session with a couple of guys from work.  It was Adams' first time out!  We ran the mile long path next to the runways to get out there as the sun was coming up.  The waves were coming in at shoulder to overhead from the south and the winds were established and coming from the east creating a little chop.  We climbed down the rocks and paddled out to the empty breaks and had the place to ourselves for about an hour before people started showing up by the boatload.  Nate tore it up on his fish while I worked with Adam and caught a few nice lefts and then rights.  The swell could have been better, but Adam is hooked and new partnerships have been established!

Description:

Well....Ended up glassing on a big ol Single fin from a long board to replace the one I snapped off on the South Shore.

My first intro to Sunset.

I've checked it before...but twice it has been totally out of control with  North Shore Conditions off the richter and no one in the water.  In liu I've chosen Haliewa...which aint no joke either when things are like this.

Once, I checked it and it was Sunset proper. The 7' foot board I had was not going to cut it. Just big and gnarly with what looked like a pretty good rip. The wise decision to abort was indeed wise.

Today was perfect....a freak little north swell in the morning. Only 5 guys out. Occassional 10'+ faces. Just a perfect intro for me. Got to see the once in awhile freak sets come through and swing wide and catch everyone off guard. Caught a couple walled up fast ones that got tubular. Caught some lame mushy ones that didn't go anywhere. Also, Sat on the inside and tried out the bowl that breaks right up on the beach. Watch out for that! That inside reef ain't no joke either.

I can see out this places gets moody!

Can't wait to surf it bigger and with the proper equipment.

Description:

We rented a car last minute and drove down on a Sunday. Should have prepared more but everything worked out really well.

No one speaks English so renting a board was a pain in the @$$. We were able to rent two boards a 7' 6" fun shape for me (with duck tape all over it) and a 9" 6" LB missing the center fin for my friend. The boards were way to big for the waves and had zero rocker to them so it was certainly a challenge but still a ton of fun.

Considering it was Sunday there weren't very many people out. Seems like a really fun town. If your single and surf this is a good destination for you and your bros to go.

The women here are 10 times hotter then the girls in the city. I love Brazilian cut bikinis!

It was a 2.5 hour drive from Sao Paulo. While the roads were good (toll roads) in beginning your on a single lane highway for most of the drive. Be careful as there are speed bumps on the highway and some are poorly marked.

Description:

The waves today were not as large as yesterday, but still very fun.  Scott and I headed to town for our customary Saturday dawn patrol earlier than normal to beat the inevitable crowds that we knew would come.  We paddled out a little past five only to meet up with ten others who had the same idea.  We had a bomber head high set roll through and we all caught some solid waves.  By 6am our numbers had tripled and as the bigger sets would roll in you had to fight traffic before you could trim into the face that you shared with at best three other surfers.  However, there were enough waves and long enough breaks for everyone to share and make for a very fun sunrise session.

I went through a little alley inbetween houses.

In the past I've surfed the left way outside and off to the left of some coral heads and poles sticking out of the water. Met Mark Woo there. Cool Cat!

This time there was rights and lefts barreling way outside to the right of the alley a little. A really long and easy paddle through a channel.

Was on and firing! Snapped my center fin on a bottom turn and cut my session short.

Waves were great, there was a long lull but when the sets came in they were just almost perfect.  This spot breaks so nice and it is great for Bodysurfers.  It is a one-of-a-kind spot.  There is a law at this break "for Bodysurfers Only", if you are bodyboarding or surfing in this break you will receive a $50 fine.  That is why this is one of the greatest breaks on Oahu.

Description:

The waves in the channel were coming in shoulder to overhead & clean but disorganized.  Scott and I hit it up for a post work session and caught some of the biggest and fastest waves that he has ever ridden.  We had just got to the line up (all three people that grew to five including us) when a bomber set rolled in.  I caught the best wave of my day in the first set with an overhead right.  I got a solid 45 second ride and was even able to hang five!  We are planning on hitting it up for lunch on Friday as it is supposed to peak by 2pm.

Surfed courts before...but it was pretty busy. Courts if fun though.

A very typical day at White Plains!  Went early for the Dawn Patrol with an established North East Wind and the Buoy report calling 5-6' swells we thaught it would be great....not so much.   However, as always any morning out surfing is better than any morning stuck on land.

Description:

Just another typical small day on the south, but the trades were down.  Made an early lunch run to White Plaines for a little fun time.  I am running out of days that I will be able to surf Hawaii so I am catching every bump that I can get into.  All too soon these reports will be from Florida and then with any fortune I will be logging new breaks from Bahrain!
