Description:
On the approach from whitby where all the cars park by the side of the road about 400m from river mouth, as the waves start to get bigger away from the protection of the headland in a northerly swell. A short paddle out with fast waves and strong currents - not as easy as it looks!

The weather isvery bad alon the atlantic coast since 2 weeks ! My trip in Portugal is very bad for the surf (hopefully only for the surf) : Just on medium session in 10 days !
Foz do Arelho is a good powerful beachbreak. I got onshore waves. Not very good but enough for me after one month without good surf.

headed straight to the coast from work and met a few mates for a good wee surf at PBT. went back to where the waves hit off the sandbank. got a good few waves until the tide got too high and flooded the bay.. gotta give up at that point! but did manage to enjoy a harbour burger from Coast.. Love it!

Description:
Surfed this place several times. Only breaks on a decent swell. Very few take-off points, so gets crowded/competitive. Main peak is tricky and usually breaks farther out than appears it will. It's really a local's spot (I'm fairly local and even I rarely ride here)... but if you insist, it's quite an intense paddle. If you're a beginner or out of shape, you'll just be an obstacle and won't get a wave. Go way down south of pismo pier and build up you muscles.

Beautiful late afternoon session, loads of people out, but by walking 200m up the beach found a spot with virtually no one out. It was breaking a bit all over the place, and there was no wind - glassy and smooth. In fact the only thing missing was the swell... tiny waves, with occasional sets that provided fun but small walls. Had a lot of fun without any effort :-)

Went up to the port for the day with a few mates.. waves weren't to kick in until about late in the evening so went for a bit of lunch 1st and had the craic with them.. managed to get into the water about 5.30 and started off in the river mouth at PBT. then once it started to pick up moved futher along the beach to were the waves were hittin nicely off a sandbank and surfed there until about 9.30 that night.. flippin brilliant day.. not the best waves ive ever been on but just a lot of fun! Think the Sun makes the session that much better!

Super fun session. Crowded, but no one talking shit and getting pissed. Plenty of waves for everyone. Fun lefts and rights, sunny. The waves got ruined once the tide went out in the afternoon. Definitely coming back for more. All other spots weren't breaking very well, but Short Sands didn't disappoint. Anyone who has said anything about your car getting broken into in Seaside of here at Short Sands is a fucking liar. No bad blood, no crime, no violence.

The details are from the AM lowtide session. It was good! Most beaches in the area were super winded, including our homebreak of Valdovino. We try to avoid this spot because of the crowd, but you just gotta be early!
The evening session was different. I went in with 2 friends, and we stayed away from the main peak, which was very shifty. We got some fun rides on the small corner wave... protected from the wind. MINI - waves actually.
Tomorrow may be too small so maybe another spot and I'm not saying where just maybe... Otherwise we're going climbing:)

Went down to Bundoran with 2 mates.. Sun was out and although the waves weren't the best i've been on,It was great craic! just had such a laugh. headed in at Tullan, started at the cliffs around mid tide on the push and then moved along the beach closer to high tide. Got some nice lefts in there.. and managed to carve up a wave from the back right to shore. Cant wait to get back out again!

first surf of my soon to be legendary surf trip to sydney.
really nice looking waves coming in off lennox point, but about 70 blokes in the water.
my arms are coming off the couch so i don't last long against the current. Doesnt matter, the look of these waves has got me excited about the rest of the trip.
surf quality 8/10. my performance 1/10
overall i guess that averages to a 4.5!

Caught one of the best waves here that day.. Nice left hander/back side which I was chuffed with cause I generally suck at lefts.. Set me up with a smile for the rest of the day! Flippin stoked! Cant wait to get up again..hopefully the swell will hang about for a while!

Description:
10-15 kt onshore wind made it a pretty bad day at usually glassy Serangan. Waves were all blown over and paddle out reminded us of Ocean Beach, San Francisco. We were the only 2 surfers out there surfing just before high tide.

Description:
We hovered mainly in the middle. The beginners had to fight the current pretty hard on the inside, but on the middle peak was just us. Not so hollow so it was not a difficult drop to make. Even caught a couple of nice long rides. Flo got lefts and rights. Fenky got some good ones too! His last night here:( Sad to see him go, but hopefully he'll be back soon!
